3 Ways To Increase Your Sales With Video Production

Posted by on / 6 Comments

Video has become an essential part of marketing strategies and that’s because it works. There are several ways to use video to increase sales. We’ll cover 3 ways to increase your sales with video production in this post.

85% of businesses use video as a marketing tool. In addition, 92% of marketers who use video say that it’s an important part of their marketing strategy. While 88% of video marketers reported that video gives them a positive ROI. (hubspot).

It’s simple – people just prefer to watching video over reading text. Everything goes up when you utilize video on your website and social media outlets; engagements, the time spent on your website, customer satisfaction and sales and conversions.

Video is easier and more efficient

Video is popular and works so well for variety of reasons.

Here are three ways you can use video to help your business and increase sales.

1. Product videos

All companies should make videos for all of their products.  64% of consumers will make a purchase after watching a branded video. Even if you offer a service you need to make a ‘product’ video. For a service company, that means an explainer video demonstrating how your service works and what problem it solves.

When making a product video, focus on how it solves the problem your customer has and how it will make their life, or more often, a certain task in their life easier or better.

Don’t take your brochure and just copy the text and use it for a script for your video. You’ll connect with your customer and motivate them to take your desired call to action if you connect with them emotionally. That doesn’t mean you need to make them cry – unless of course that’s part of your story or message.

Connecting emotionally means you’re speaking to your customers’ needs and wants about something that is relevant to them – not you. It means making a light bulb go off in their head where they see how your product or service will improve their life in some way.

2. How-to tutorial videos

The idea with any video with the goal of initiating a call to action or to generate sales is to offer your viewers and customers something of value. Actually that’s true for any video regardless of the type. Making an educational video? Well, if you’re not offering anything of value they’ll turn it off as soon as they realize it has nothing to offer them.

The great thing about how-to’s is you can make a tutorial video on anything. Short is the key for online video, so it’s a good idea to make a separate video on each aspect of your product or service – how it works, how to install it, how to dismantle it, how to store it, etc.

If any one aspect is too short to warrant its own separate video, then lump subjects together. The point is for today’s viewer, whether on mobile or a desktop, shorter is better. It’s better to have 10 one-minute how-to videos then it is to have 1 ten-minute video.

3. Video Chat

Video chat is a newer application that is just starting to take off. The Covid-19 pandemic has certainly caused an explosion of virtual video meetings with apps like Zoom or Google Meet but video chat is something different. Video chat is using video in your customer support rather than just text based chat.

Video chat isn’t a marketing video per se and obviously isn’t something you need to create or produce. I include it in this list since it’s an application of video and it has been shown to dramatically increase sales for some companies without any cost of production, other than bandwidth and app usage costs. A huge bonus by itself.

Major companies are using video chat on their websites to deliver top-notch customer service and to boost sales. Companies like Amazon and MBank have claimed a surge in profits since adding video chat to their customer service.

Studies show that video chat is the best tool to drive sales, conversions and customer satisfaction. It’s the best communication platform to provide real-time assistance to your customers.

According to a survey by Accenture, 72% of consumers have switched brands due to a lack of a personalized value added experience.

An insightsquared survey found 82% of customers abandon the brand’s website due to a poor customer service. While 61% of them expected the customer service to be faster, and 73% expect the service to be more easy and convenient for the end user.

Video chat solves all these problems and gives your customer a personalized experience with a real human that will boost loyalty and trust which leads to increased sales.
