I was scouting locations yesterday in downtown Los Angeles, the day after Christmas and there was hardly anyone there.  Very strange. I probably could’ve shot a whole apocalyptic movie with no permits.

Location scouting today. Found a couple good places.

I heard you can’t be taken seriously as a director unless you have a photo of yourself pointing.

Went bowling today for only the 2nd time in about  30 years at the Canoga Park Bowl.  Hit a strike the first time up.  Then a couple strikes in a row. I still got it.

Got my angry black van in a movie that shot at the Pink Motel…a really over used filming location but it’s always cool getting the van in the movies.

I went out yesterday on a spontaneous  shoot to get a few cutaway shots for my pitch video for my next film and although I didn’t get what I wanted,  I did after 40 years….well 40 minutes anyway, find my salvation…..

Ok, I got some spare time on my hands this Memorial Day weekend. Here’s a self portrait I made in 3rd grade art class. Some say it’s primitive art, I tend to agree.

This is a test I did with the Red camera. I wanted to try to mimic the miniature effect you get when you use a swing & tilt lens. I used a normal lens and did the effect in post. But the shots need to be a little closer to really pull it off.
